FAQ
Favicon questions
What favicon sizes do I need?
A modern favicon set covers 16×16 and 32×32 (browser tabs), 48×48 (Windows), 180×180 (apple-touch-icon for iOS), and 192×192 plus 512×512 (Android / PWA). This generator produces all of them, plus a multi-size favicon.ico, in one download.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. This favicon generator runs entirely in your browser — your image is processed locally with the Canvas API and never leaves your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked.
How do I add the favicon to WordPress?
The easiest route is Appearance → Customize → Site Identity, where you can upload a Site Icon and WordPress generates the sizes for you. For full control, upload the generated files to your site root and paste the provided <link> tags into your theme header.
What image format should I use?
Start from a square image at 512×512 or larger for the sharpest result. PNG with a transparent background is ideal; SVG and JPG also work. Simple, high-contrast artwork reads best at 16×16.
